October 2022 - Exhibition n. 6

CANELLI (AT)

It's raining in Canelli but...

I arrived in Canelli in the early afternoon yesterday to participate in the "Canelli city of wine" event, as well as intermittent rain I am warmly welcomed by the councilor for tourism and culture Giovanni Bocchino and by Giulia event manager to whom I donated the calendar of the AICC (Italian Association of Corkscrew Collectors) made by me with a selection of my works of art. They were very happy and have already invited me to participate in the next events that the municipality of Canelli will organize. I begin to set up my exhibition stand and immediately groups of tourists and onlookers approach to discover and closely observe the exhibits and my works of art. A group of Brazilian entrepreneurs (wine importers) are enraptured by my stories, Canellesi of all ages stop to hear and tell stories of friends, relatives, experiences, etc. about the world of wine. A continuous sharing of culture. The rain comes and goes and forces me to exhibit in small spaces but happiness and good wine flow during the event, cheering up everyone present. While I was explaining the functions of the champagne fountains, I asked people where they came from: Tuscany, Valle d'Aosta, Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont so much that I exclaimed "wow, there is half of Italy under my gazebo". Nice young people from Holland kept coming back to my gazebo bringing more friends and always asking for new information about corkscrews. I met "old friends" from the sommelier course, new friends talking about exhibition projects and new passionate corkscrew collectors. Among the latter, Mr. Pino, with his wife, who, having learned of my exhibition, showed up at my gazebo with a gift for me, a new corkscrew signed by Gancia (I really appreciated the gift). In the end, despite the climate, I enjoyed myself, tasted excellent wines, made friends and acquaintances, shared culture, received a warm welcome and achieved my goals. Goodbye Canelli, thank you for hosting me.
